Animesh Bangal is a junior in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University and is also pursuing a minor in Robotics Engineering. He joined the lab in Fall 2025, where his research focuses on controller design and advanced control methods for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). His current work includes Extended Dynamic Mode Decomposition with control (EDMDc) for quadcopter dynamics and research on optimal periodic control for energy-efficient flight. He received the LSU Gulf Scholars Award, which supported his autonomous UAV research in the lab during Summer 2026. He was also awarded the Cameron LNG Children of Employees Scholarship for the 2026–2027 academic year. His research interests include UAV dynamics and control, autonomous systems, model predictive control, data-driven control, and optimal control.
